AIOS AI SuperUser Bootcamp (Requirements)

Recommendations from Mark:

  1. Download the ChatGPT App on your phone or tablet (AppleAndroid). This will allow you to take notes. Here’s how I use ChatGPT when I attend a conference or training.
  2. We will have over 500 people in the theater so asking questions is going to be tricky and I want to capture all the questions and make sure everyone’s questions get answered. So I created this online community that is free to join. It’s on a platform called Circle so you may want to add that to your phone (It’s also available in your web browser at https://community.theaie.net). As the course is going on I’d like you to ask your questions for the morning session in ChatGPT forum, in the afternoon when we do AI agents, ask your questions there. We’ll do some live questions as well but this ensures that we can not only answer the questions but give you something to refer to later.
  3. Feel free to introduce yourself and tell us a little about yourself in the Introduce Yourself forum. It’d be great to know who you are and what you are looking to get out of the course.
  4. Follow All Things Open AI on LinkedIn, this is not typical, it’s a community not just a business page so if you’d like to add yourself to the organization, we’d love you to share your participation. Just go to your profile on LinkedIn, click the pencil by your Experience, then hit the “+”, then add a title, like attendee, community member, AI learner, student, or whatever makes sense. Then share it with your network to show you are involved.
  5. You are welcome to use a laptop during the event but keep in mind that you might run out of battery, if you have an extra battery it’s a good idea to bring it.
  6. Normally, I don’t provide the instructor materials for these courses but because this is a special circumstance, for anyone who provides feedback on the course, I’ll make them available online. This way you shouldn’t sweat it if you don’t get all the points in the lectures and training. You will be able to follow along with the notes later.
  7. Also, I will be making this course available online later this year. If you complete the class and provide feedback I’ll give you the class for free. My goal is for you to get the most out of this event possible and it’s not just a class it’s an education on AI.

Here’s the plan for the day.

Let’s get everyone in and seated by 9:00 a.m. in Fletcher Hall sharp. We’ll have a busy day and I want everyone to get the most out of it.

We are going to start with an overview of AI and jump right into a few common examples of more sophisticated use cases for ChatGPT. Then we’ll move through all the features of ChatGPT and how to use them to improve your productivity. I’ll try to make this accessible for both beginners and advanced learners. This will include ChatGPT Tasks, Canvas, CustomGPTs, Deep Research, and much more.

To give you another perspective on how to use AI, Melanie McLaughlin of AIAInnovations will give you an overview of how she is more productive with AI. I wanted to give you another point of view and Melanie is a great resource.

We’ll also have an optional guest lecturer at lunch on Monday. There will be box lunches for those who wish to stay onsite.

After the lunch break, we’ll finish up any last part on ChatGPT and then start with AI Agents. We also have some special guests. I have been using an AI Agent platform called Taskade, but that eventually has a cost associated with it.

It turns out that some very smart former colleagues of mine from Acorn Labs have been working on a free and open source platform called Obot. They will provide access to a hosted version of Acorn and walk through how to build agents. I think this is a good option because it’s a free option and very accessible to everyone.

These folks are very smart, Sheng Liang their founder was part of the original Java team, and he’s since founded Cloud.com and Rancher along with being the President of SUSE. His team will be providing an overview of how you can build agents as easily as you use ChatGPT.

Additional Resources

If you want my free 14-day free AIOS email course you can enroll at theAIOS.ai and you’ll get 14 lessons to reinforce what you are learning on March 17th. Because AI is moving so fast it’s a little dated but still relevant. But the Monday course is the latest and greatest around AI.

Also, I have added you to my personal newsletter The Artificially Intelligent Enterprise, it’s got tips and tricks for you to succeed with AI in business. Any time you have a question you can reply though it may take me a little bit of time to respond. There are over 22,000 business people on the list.

I’ll follow up with additional emails but until then I am looking forward to Monday. Until then feel free to pose questions in the forums.
